Earlier this year I travelled to Morocco for five days. It was a short trip, but thanks to the 3-day desert tour that I had booked onto, I was able to see and do so much! The tour, which started and ended in Marrakech, took me across the Atlas Mountains, to the famous world heritage site Ait Ben Haddou, and onto Quarzazate, Dades Valley, and Todra Gorge before ending on a camel ride and night camping in the utterly stunning Merzouga Desert. And all for only €90- an absolute steal!
I’ve written an in-depth review of the tour here, but I also wanted to create a video to visually showcase just how much you can see and do with 5 days in Morocco. As well as the tour I was also able to fit in some sight-seeing in Marrakesh. On the first day, I spent the afternoon wandering the streets of the Old Town and visiting Bahia Palace (although you won’t see any film of this in the video, I think the intense heat of Morocco in July had hit me and I couldn’t even think about filming!), and on my final day after returning form the tour, I spent a day shopping in the souks and experiencing the chaos that is Jemaa el-Fnaa at night! On top of this, I also got to stay in two traditional Riads in the city’s old town; an experience that really shouldn’t be missed, especially as you can find them for all budgets on the likes of Airbnb and Booking.com.
Anyway, I hope you enjoy watching the video and if you have any questions about how best to plan a trip like this, feel free to comment below!
